David has over 25 years experience in research, product
development and commercialisation, market research
consulting, project management, and sales and
marketing plan development.

David’s career encompasses roles as a Research Scientist at Mawson Base, Antarctica, Sales Engineer for Varian Vacuum Products and General Manager of The Science Foundation for Physics at the University of Sydney. David has also held senior positions in the
medical device industry at Telectronics Pacing Systems and Polartechnics, where he led a team which commercialised the SolarScan® Skin Cancer Assessment System, taking the product from early prototype and data collection, through clinical trials in Australia, Germany and the USA to commercial release.

In addition to his role of Chief Operations Officer of the CQCT David works in the dual role of CEO at Qucor Pty Ltd, coordinating its strategic interaction with industry, and its intellectual property protection and development. He is a member of the Centre’s Advisory Committee.
David has degrees in Physics from Macquarie University and in Marketing from the University of New South Wales. He is an inventor on four patents and has edited two books on topics in science and technology.
