ELANOR H. HUNTINGTON
BSc (Hons 1 and Medal), PhD Australian National

A/Prof University of New South Wales, ADFA
ACT Node Manager
Centre for Quantum Computer Technology
Program Manager Linear Optics Quantum Computation - Experimental

Elanor completed her PhD in experimental quantum optics at the Australian National University. Elanor’s PhD research involved experimental demonstrations of quantum noise limited operation of a variety of laser and laser amplifier systems as well as demonstrations of
sub-quantum noise limited electro-optic amplifier systems. After a stint at Australia’s Defence Science and Technology Organisation, Elanor joined the University of New South Wales located at the Australian Defence Force Academy in 2000 where, amongst other things,
she is investigating means of robustly encoding quantum information on photonic qubits.

Elanor is the manager of the ACT Node of the Centre. Centre research at UNSW@ADFA involves the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering as well as the School of Physical, Environmental and Mathematical Sciences and encompasses experiments in;

(i) robust implementations of Linear Optical Quantum Computation; and (ii) magnetic resonance studies of issues critical to a solid-state quantum computers.

Elanor became the manager of the ACT Node at inception in January 2007.
